Some libraries, such as the National Diet Library and Tokyo Metropolitan Libraries, do not provide borrowing services to individuals. Please check directly with each library in advance regarding the details, scope, and eligibility of their services.
University Libraries and Other Institution Libraries Not Affiliated with ICU
Some libraries, such as national and public university libraries or institutional libraries, allow access and browsing with just an ID card. Please confirm directly with each library in advance.
For other libraries, you will need a "Letter of Introduction" issued by the ICU Library. Click on the "Letter of Introduction Request Form" below, fill it out, and submit it.
Notes
It takes approximately half a day from the time of application to issuance.
In principle, borrowing services are not available at libraries not affiliated with ICU.
Only current ICU students and regular faculty/staff members are eligible to apply for a "Letter of Introduction." For more details, please contact the Reference Service Center.
