Questions about Materials
How can I retrieve materials from the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS)?
Please follow the steps below to retrieve materials:
Click on the title of the material you wish to view to display the details page.
Click the [Click to Retrieve] button in the [ASRS] section.
In the confirmation window, click [Execute] to retrieve the material from the ASRS.
Pick up the material from the red book truck next to the information desk on the basement floor of the Othmer Library.
I lost / damaged a borrowed book. What should I do?
If you have lost library materials, please contact us immediately.
As a general rule, you will be required to replace the lost item with an identical copy.
If the material is damaged, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Please bring it to the library as is. Depending on the extent of the damage, the library may be able to repair it. We kindly ask you to handle library materials with care.

I can’t return books to the library by the due date. What should I do?
If you are unable to return books to the library by the due date, you can return them via courier or postal mail. For details, please refer to the following page:
I would like the library to purchase certain materials.

How can I check what I have borrowed?
You can check the due dates of your borrowed books, overdue items, fines, and reserved books through MyLibrary.
How can I view past senior, master’s, or doctoral theses?

I can’t access certain e-books or e-journals found via OPAC.
For e-journals, access is limited to the ranges specified in our contracts. Issues outside the dates displayed on the OPAC search results page may not be accessible.
If you encounter an error or suspect a technical issue, please contact us through the Inquiry Form. Please include the following information to facilitate the investigation:
Bibliographic information of the inaccessible material and database name
Network used (e.g., on-campus WiFi, lab wired LAN, home WiFi, etc.)
Access device (PC, tablet, smartphone, etc.)

I would like to donate books to the library.
Thank you for your offer to donate books.
Due to limited storage space, the library only accepts academic books that are not already in our collection. Before donating, please send the title and author of the book(s) via the Inquiry Form. We will review your offer and respond shortly.
Questions Regarding Facilities and Equipment
Is there a space in the library where groups can study together?
Group study is possible on the 1st Floor (1F) and Ground Floor (GF) of the Othmer Library. Please refer to this map for details.
Is there a space where food and drinks are allowed in the library?
On the 1st Floor (1F) and Ground Floor (GF) of the Othmer Library, beverages with lids and food are permitted. Additionally, O’s Cafe has vending machines for drinks and snacks. Please refer to this map for more information.
Note: Open containers, such as cups or cans, are not allowed in the Main Library or Othmer Library.
Are there vending machines in the library?
O’s Cafe has vending machines for drinks and snacks. Additionally, there are vending machines for bottled beverages near the entrance of the Ground Floor (GF) of the Othmer Library. Please refer to this map for details.

What kind of assistance can I get from the reference service?
The Reference Service is a support service provided by library staff to assist with your information searches. Please feel free to ask at the Reference Counter if you need help with:
How to search for materials
How to use databases
Guidance on library use
Investigating material holdings or specific topics

Hours: Weekdays during the term, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
Consultation Methods: In-person, inquiry form, phone, Zoom, etc.
When asking questions, providing the following three points in advance will ensure a smoother response:
Materials you found yourself (e.g., book titles or article names)
Tools or databases you used for your search (e.g., OPAC, ICU Discovery)
The deadline by which you need a response
Note: Depending on the content of your question, it may take some time to provide an answer.
Can I enter the library or borrow books if I forget my library card (student ID)?
If you forget your student ID card, you can log in to MyLibrary using the computer at the entrance counter to verify your identity and enter the library.
However, you cannot borrow books without your student ID card.
Can I exchange money at the library?
The library does not provide money exchange services.
What should I do if I leave something behind in the library?
If an item is found in the library, it will be delivered to the Security Group (located on the 1st floor of the Administration Building) in the evening of the same day. Please contact them for inquiries.

Can I make a donation specifically for the library?
